The Upper Pee Dee Farm and Food Council will host Farm & Food Fest at the renowned Lucky Clays Farm on November 8th. The event will feature workshops with expert panelists in Aquaponics/Hydroponics, Alternative Energy for Farm and Home, and Marketing for the Small Farm. Two featured speakers, Christy Shi from Carolina Environmental Farming Systems and Debbie Hamrick of NC Farm Bureau, will tag-team about how interest in local farms and food is surging in NC, especially in the Charlotte region and beyond. The event begins at 8:45 a.m. and participants should be prepared to arrive before that time and ends at 3:00 p.m. A local food feast prepared by ROOTS will be served at 12:30 p.m. Early registration with discounted admission is available before September 30.
