Little River Paddle 2023

This will be a leisurely paddle on the Little River in Montgomery County, starting at the WRC access located at 2382 Pekin Rd, Candor, NC 27229. We will meet there at 8:00am. We will paddle downstream and back, approximately 3 miles round trip, starting and ending at the same spot. The viewshed on the southern side of the river will be a newly protected conservation easement property, while the viewshed on the north side of the river is US Forest Service land. We expect to see great blue herons, green herons, prothonotary warblers, great egrets, and more. We expect to be done by 10:00am.

Boats are not provided so please bring your own kayak or canoe, paddle, and life jacket. Life jackets must be worn properly at all times. Also wear appropriate footwear for launching boats in shallow water, bring sunscreen and hats, and any water or snacks you might want. We look forward to a great morning on the water.
