2024 Dove Hunt
Join Three Rivers Land Trust for our annual dove hunt on opening day, September 2nd, at The Point property in Mocksville, NC!
Register to hunt on 80 acres of cut corn at our 1,700-acre Point property.
Join us for North Carolina’s Opening Day of dove season on Monday, September 2nd at our Point property. Registration will be open on Monday, July 1st at 8:00am EST. Registration will close once the event reaches capacity. This event will take place rain or shine. We cannot control the weather or the migratory pattern of mourning doves.

Time: All Day (5:30am-7:30pm)

Cost: $150 per adult, $75 per youth (15 & under)

Day Of The Hunt
GATES OPEN AT 5:00AM EST
TRLT staff will open the gate at the entrance to The Point property at 5:00am EST. Hunters will check in and receive wristbands that must be worn throughout the day. From there, hunters will be directed to the parking area and gear up for the hunt.
When ready, hunters will congregate for a mandatory safety briefing before heading out to the field.
Lunch will be served from 11:30am-1:00pm. During lunch, you will receive your event T-shirt and have a chance to hang out with fellow hunters and TRLT staff before getting ready to head out for the afternoon hunt.

Located at the confluence of the Yadkin and South Yadkin Rivers, our 1,700-acre Point property will feature over 80 acres of cut corn during opening day of the 2024 North Carolina dove season.

Rules & Regulations
- All firearms must be unloaded until 6:20 AM (6 minutes before legal shooting time which is at 6:26 AM). Also, firearms must be unloaded while traveling to and from the field.
- All hunters must have proper licensing/HIP certification and abide by the 15 bird limit.
- No firearms can have the capacity to hold more than three shells.
- No alcohol or drugs are permitted.
- No cleaning birds in the dove field.
- All groups must remain approximately 50 yards away from adjacent hunting groups.
- All youth hunters (under the age of 16) must hunt with their parent / guardian.
- All hunters must clean up their trash / spent shells.
- No shooting at low birds.
- You may come and go as you please – your wrist band serves as your entry pass / written permission to hunt on September 2nd.
- All dogs must be under control at all times.
- Legal shooting time ends at 7:49 PM.
- Any unsportsmanlike conduct or unsafe behavior will result in permission revocation without refund.
- Harvesting of non-game species or species other than doves, whether intentional or otherwise, will result in immediate permission revocation without refund.
- Make every effort to retrieve downed birds, wanton waste is illegal.
- You must be present at your spot in order to keep it. Reserving locations with stools/bags is not allowed.
It’s Hunting, No Guarantees
We do not control the patterns of migratory birds. There are no guarantees on this hunt but staff works hard to create the best possible habitat for wildlife.
You will be given one warning for unsafe conduct with your firearm (low birds/muzzle sweeping other hunters, etc.). If you continue to demonstrate unsafe firearm handling you will be escorted from the field with no refund.
Hunters with youth: please ensure you are in control of your hunting partner and that they are demonstrating safe firearm handling at all times. You must be seated together at a single spot.
If you take your limit of birds, then continue to harvest additional birds, you will be escorted from the field, no refund. Obviously, some spots will be better than others, spots will be on a first come, first served basis, and you may move at any time when a spot becomes available. You must be present at your spot in order to keep it. Reserving locations with stools/bags is not allowed.

Be courteous to other hunters, rude behavior will not be tolerated, you will be escorted from the field without a refund. Please be courteous to your hosts, we have made every effort to provide a quality opportunity, and proceeds from this hunt go directly towards our conservation work in the region. This hunt is 100% fair chase of a migratory game bird.
