Additional Information: The Badin Upland Pools is an important breeding ground for salamanders, frogs, and other amphibians because the wetland dries up in the summertime. Because they dry up, no fish live in these pools, leaving the amphibian eggs in peace to spawn. There are also an abundance of Atamasco Lilies around mid-April.
