2024 Town Creek Indian Mound Hike

This guided tour of Town Creek Indian Mound will include a viewing of the orientation film and a walk around the museum, a hunting tool demonstration, and a village tour. Participants will learn about the Mississippian culture and archeology of Town Creek, see a presentation that covers 10,000 years of hunting tool technology and evolution from spear to atlatl, bow, and blowgun, and then tour the partially reconstructed Mississippian village including three reconstructed buildings and a monument. After these activities, the gift shop will be open for souvenirs.
